What We Offer
The City of Green Cove Springs offers an excellent benefits program to its employees, including leave benefits, educational/training benefits, direct deposit, and eleven major holidays off each year. Other benefits include the following:
Health Insurance coverage is provided through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, or Florida Blue. To provide coverage and cost options, Two PPO plans and two HMO plans are offered to employees and their families.
Dental Insurance coverage is provided through Lincoln Financial Group. Two PPO plans are offered to employees - the High and Low plans – giving employees options on coverage and cost.
Vision Insurance coverage is provided through HumanaVision, previously known as the Vision Care Plan.
City of Green Cove Springs employees are provided a group life insurance policy through Standard Insurance that equals one times their annual salary, with a minimum $25,000 benefit. Employees have the option to elect supplemental benefits at their own cost.
City of Green Cove Springs employees, except police officers, participate in a defined benefit plan through the Florida Retirement System. Police officers participate in a defined benefit plan through the Florida Municipal Pension Trust Fund. A deferred compensation plan (voluntary 457 plan) is offered to all employees through Hartford.
A Police Pension Board, consisting of two City Council appointees who must reside within the City limits, two police officer members of the plan, and a fifth member elected by the other four members, meets quarterly. Worker’s compensation benefits are provided through the Florida League of Cities, Inc. for employees who are injured on the job.
