Section 78-66. Utility Payment Extension.
City’s utility payment extension offers qualifying customers the chance to extend their due date. Once the statement amount becomes past due, a payment extension may be granted to avoid service interruption. The customer must request a payment extension in writing prior to the disconnection date.
Terms and conditions of a payment plan will be based on the following:
a. No Tampering/Fraud activity at any time.
b. Account in good standing.
c. Account must be active for 182 days
d. No Insufficient or Non-Sufficient Funds “NSF” checks written to the city in the last 90 days
e. No pending City Code Enforcement proceedings or City Code Enforcement liens involving subject property.
If satisfactory arrangements are made with the City of Green Cove Springs Representative prior to disconnection, a five (5) calendar day extension from the disconnection date may be granted to the applicant.
Payment extensions will be limited to three (3) within a 365 day period with at least 30 days between extensions.
In order to obtain an extension a customer must fill out a Utility Extension Request Form and submit to the Customer Service office at City Hall during regular business hours.City of Green Cove Springs third party notification service can help prevent an unexpected disconnection of your utility service or the utility service of someone close to you who needs special assistance.
