The purpose of this new Program will be to assist Green Cove Springs Utility customers in need of direct temporary financial assistance to pay their utility bill and avoid service disruption.
The Program shall be administered by local charitable organizations under contract with the City that handle this type of emergency utility payment assistance and subject only to their income and eligibility guidelines, with a goal of assisting as many qualified applications as possible.
Program funds may only be used to provide direct temporary financial assistance to Green Cove Springs Utility customers to avoid utility service disruption. Program funds may not be used for administration.
How it works: Each month when you receive your utility statement it will be rounded up to the next dollar based on your voluntary election to enroll in the program. Those accumulated funds will be set aside and distributed by the charitable organization under contract to provide direct temporary financial assistance to Green Cove Springs Utility customers. Participation in this Program is entirely voluntary and a customer can opt out at any time by providing notification to the City of Green Cove Springs customer service department. This notification can be done by either phone or letter. Once a customer opts out, their bill will no longer be rounded up to the next dollar.
