Roadway, utility, pedestrian, and streetscape improvements along Walnut Street from Palmetto Avenue to the St. Johns River.
Cost
$3.1 million budgeted for Phase One. Phase Two is estimated to cost $2.7 million. This is partially funded by Gas Tax, Surtax and American Rescue Plan Act funds. City will continue to find sources of funding for future phases of project.
Current Progress
Design plans complete April 2023 and construction bid awarded September 2023. Project is broken into two phases. Phase One will include Walnut Street from Magnolia Avenue to Orange Avenue. Phase Two will include Walnut Street from Palmetto Avenue to Magnolia Avenue. Bid for Phase One was awarded in September 2023. Construction is anticipated to start January 2024 and end by July 2024.
