[ARCHIVED] City of Green Cove Springs is Accepting Applications for Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)

This committee is designed to gather and provide input and feedback from residents and business owners on a wide range of issues related to City operations. The feedback received from the CAC may significantly influence decisions made by the City.

The CAC is open to City residents and business owners. To be considered eligible, residents and businesses must live in or within one mile of the Green Cove Springs City limits or utility service area. Business owners must have their businesses located in or within one mile of the Green Cove Springs City limits or utility service area. Additionally, business owners must hold a valid business license issued by the City of Green Cove Springs.

The CAC will delve into nine major areas, though the scope of topics is unlimited. Key focus areas include economic development, city beautification, stormwater management, transportation, and public safety. Committee members will provide feedback on specific projects or policies which will be taken into consideration by City officials and the City Council.

City Manager Steve Kennedy stated, “The Citizens Advisory Committee is a great way to increase transparency and encourage more public involvement in the City decision-making process.”

The CAC holds monthly meetings, publicly announced and recorded by the City Clerk. Agendas and minutes are available on www.greencovesprings.com for public viewing. The committee will maintain the same level of accountability and transparency as other appointed boards and elected bodies of the City.

Interested residents and business owners can apply by filling out an application at https://www.greencovesprings.com/335/Citizens-Advisory-Committee and emailing the completed forms to Executive Assistant Kimberly Thomas at kthomas@greencovesprings.com. Applications will be reviewed by City staff, and accepted applicants will be notified after January 1, 2024. There is no deadline to submit applications, but the City encourages early submissions.
