Remote Meter Reading Installation Starting Nov. 1, 2022

Starting November 1 through end of December the City will be replacing select meters throughout its service area. These new meters will be able to track and report electric, water, and wastewater usage of all buildings within a radius. So, these new meters will be placed strategically throughout the City to accurately read meters of all customers.

With these new electric meters installed, the City will be able to remotely read meter usage for utility billing. This will also help customers in tracking the source of any leaks or abnormal usage in their utility bill . This remote meter reading takes the City one step closer to automated electric outage reporting.

This installation affects both residential and business utility customers. Anixter is the contractor for this installation, and will have a sign that says "Contractor for the City of Green Cove Springs" on their trucks. Buildings getting new electric meters installed may experience a brief interruption of power during installation. Anixter will notify each residence and business before installing the new meter.
