Current Progress

Proposals have been received and will go to City Council on August 19, 2025. The new transformer is expected to take up to two years for delivery. During this time, the City is actively engaged in discussions with Florida Power and Light, as well as developers of the Governors Park DRI, to determine whether to relocate the existing substation or upgrade it to accommodate the new transformer.

These ongoing discussions involve key considerations such as property ownership, construction costs, and potential funding sources.

Timeline

Once ordered, the new transformed is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2028.
