Remote Reader Installation
- Description: Replacing select meters throughout the City Utility service area with meters that can track and read electric, water, and wastewater usage from nearby buildings within a radius. This will allow the accurate reading of customer meters without the need of a meter reader to physically go to a utility meter on a customer's property. Customers can also track their usage online through their online pay account. Customers can go to our Online Pay How-To page to learn where to find this data.
- Timeline: Installed and turned over to the meter department to operate.
Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) Installation
- Description: SCADA installation will streamline the troubleshooting process for the Electric Department and decrease the duration of power outages city-wide.
- Budget: $500,000
- Timeline: City finalized design as of October 2020 and installed fiber by April 1, 2021. Construction was completed in July 2021.
